Aspect Television was set up in March 1999 by Rob Finighan and Jamie Owen. At the time Rob was a senior BBC television director working for news programmes in London and Jamie was the main presenter of BBC Wales' nightly news programme, Wales Today.

They had been friends since the early nineties when they worked together as television continuity announcers for the BBC in Cardiff.

Jamie lives in Cardiff where he continues to be one of the most prominent and respected broadcasters on television in Wales, while Rob lives in Herefordshire with his wife Lisa and two sons Samuel and Thomas.
